Align with your heart and deepen your intentions for the New Year. Feel gratitude and embrace your accomplishments of 2011. Remove impurities of mind and body and spirit. Through breath and movement we will explore how tuning in and aligning ourselves with our essential nature, we can feel more supported, improve our experience of ourselves and better connect with others. This class is for beginner and intermediate students.

Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga 2012

Start your year off right. Connect with your shakti, the divine life force within. Increase your energy and stamina, build strength and flexibility, and improve focus and concentration to assist your labor and delivery. Also become aware of how to practice yoga during this powerful time in your life. No previous experience practicing Yoga is required. Postnatal mothers are also welcome. During pregnancy it’s best to eat a light snack before yoga practice, giving about an hour to digest before class. Wear comfortable clothing that you can stretch in.

Push yourself over the Hump!

At times, we have to let go of the reins and give in so that you we don’t overwhelm ourselves. We are not in control of others people’s actions or feelings and this is hard for many of us to handle (including myself). When I mountain bike in the steep rocky hills of Annadel, my first inclination is to pull back on my bike when going over bumpy areas or rocks because it is scary. In reality, you have to push your bike over the rocks to get over the humps because if you pull back you will fall. It is the same in life, many times we hold back, we shut down, and pull away from people or things in our lives instead of being honest and truthful. This leads to additional pain, scarring, sadness, jealousy and resentment. Can you imagine how much easier it would be if we were honest about our feelings from the moment we felt insecure or uncertain? We could immediately push on through and feel better because we were honest. In my experience, I would not hold on to insecurity or resentments, if I would have been honest about my feelings getting hurt up front. It is tough! But I challenge you, next time you feel a chip on your shoulder or butterflies in your stomach because you need to have a hard conversation, PUSH YOURSELF. The moment you are truthful and talk, a weight will be lifted. You will feel lighter and at peace. This is a promise! I’ve been practicing this for months. This is not easy and it takes daily practice.

2011 Schedule

There has been a lot of changes for me in 2011. I’m not currently teaching prenatal yoga classes but I may add a class in the near future. Email me and I will keep you on my email list.
